Essex Federation
The National Association of Schoolmasters Union of Women Teachers (NASUWT) is a TUC-affiliated trade union representing teachers, including headteachers, throughout the United Kingdom. The union organises in all sectors from early years to further education and represents teachers in all roles including heads and deputies. The NASUWT is independent of any political party and seeks to influence educational policy on behalf of its members with national government and the devolved assemblies in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.
The Essex Federation of the NASUWT negotiates with Essex County Council on behalf of the following Local Associations: Mid Essex NASUWT, North East Essex NASUWT, North West Essex NASUWT, South Essex NASUWT and West Essex NASUWT.
Southend NASUWT and Thurrock NASUWT Local Associations negotiate with their own unitary authorities.
The Essex Federation of the NASUWT holds a minimum of one General Meeting each term. Although only Local Association delegates are eligible to vote, all Essex NASUWT members are entitled to attend. The meetings are normally on a Saturday morning from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Please contact your Local Association secretary if you would like details of the meetings.
